PostHeaderIcon Cabell gets new deputy

HUNTINGTON -- The Cabell County Sheriff's Department swore in one of its newest deputies Tuesday.

Cabell Circuit Judge John Cummings administered the oath to Deputy Richard E. Romero at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The ceremony took place in the Cabell County Commission Chambers, located on the third floor of the county's courthouse.

Cabell County deputies get cookies from Girl Scouts

Hannah Rayburn and Hannah Cremeans accept certificates from the Cabell County Sheriff's Department. Rayburn and Cremeans were two of seven Girl Scouts in Daisy Troop 2467 in Ona, W.Va. The girls gave cookies to the Cabell County Sherriff's Department, who is in turn offering the cookies to Cabell County crime victims the department comes into contact with.
